In the Daydreams I Allow II
May 5, 2020
Even if you were the beginning and end
there may be too much between
the point where we started and where I want to go.
Your road maps are inviting, but I’m worried
I’m too unskilled a traveler to follow you into the hollows —
your secrets too grand for me to keep,
if there are secrets to be kept at all.
More challenging still, the labyrinth of your mind,
drawn delicate with embellishments,
manipulations like markers guiding me to and from your core:
I’ll never know which way is in.
